Fantasy with color, 39 in x 28 in, acrylic on canvas, Ferrara, 2019
The “Fantasy with color” painting of the painter Alessandro Tognin is inspired by “Never-ending story”, a Michael Ende’s book. The painting speaks to the hearts of the young with bright and spatulated colors.
There is a continuous invitation to the solicitation of one’s personal qualities, to the use of imagination and willpower to change things. The artist Alessandro Tognin conceives fantasy as a power capable of destroying every obstacle.
Painting is also an escape from the real world. In fact it leads us to live fantasy adventures just like the protagonist of the book from which the painting is inspired. Furthermore, the painting is intended for those who live with imagination, not giving up poetry. The paintings can launch very strong messages.
The artwork adopts the imagination not as an escape from reality, but as an opening to it. Basically the artwork improves the ability to dream without abandoning the concrete. Just like in the book of Michael Ende, without the hero there is no reader. Without the reader there is no hero.
Thus, in the same way, without the painter there is no painting. The color is spread using a spatula and without using any brush. In the background are used in dominance cold and dark colors that enhance the depth. While in the foreground light colors and softer and more joyful colors highlight the vertical geometry.
A geometry punctuated by the alternation of overlapping vertical and horizontal lines. The painting conveys feelings of joy, serenity and peace. It has no frame but is equipped with a hanger ready for hanging.
