Heart pounding, what a palpitation, 47 in x 39 in, oil on canvas,Ferrara, 2013.
The painting represents this intense sensation of the heart sinking. It’s due to an eye that observes a rising of light inside our soul. Inside, the heart is broken in two and a fire also fed it .
At the top left, it is as if one could see the tread of a horse. In fact, the pupil of the eye in the foreground is dilated as if he had seen something that scared him suddenly. In the lower part, bright colors represent the heart, while inside it mixes two elementals:
water and fire, as if a wave of the sea has submerged everything. A line that ascends from the bottom upwards also divide the painting in two part. This represents the sudden increase in heart rate. Moreover, the view of the eye is also blurred by a small piece of glass, clearly visible inside.
The stylization of the figure in the upper left corner, portrayed in various forms, including a horse’s paw, represents, to be precise, the dive to the heart. The true light is on, starting from the heart, it becomes inflamed, shakes in the chest. For this reason, it makes us feel more than present with our spirit and makes us try the classic heart pounding.
Alessandro Tognin, in the representation of the painting, lives a fresh, delicate, passionate love, sometimes painful in all its nuances.
The aspiration is to investigate between the lines of the painting. Through the different forms of art, the tenuous and high concept of “love”.
Alessandro interprets and exposes it to the viewer as an articulated amalgam of impulses.
The reading of the canvas becomes more and more articulated and natural atmospheres accompany the viewer of the painting.
